A mix of tree lined avenues, street-side cafes, fashionable shops and youthful energy - Harajuku is one of the best areas in Tokyo for shopping and hanging out. Both the main avenue - Omotesando-dori - and all the many back streets are filled with shops, boutiques and cafes. Yoyogi Park, the largest park in Tokyo, is only a step away from JR Harajuku Station. Meiji-Jingu shrine, just outside the Meiji exit, is one of the best shrines in all Japan. Directly in front of the station is Takeshita-dori street, a narrow, trendy young person's shopping street.
