









Aoyama is best known as a posh neighborhood with high end shops and boutiques, but there are some other things to do in the nearby vicinity. See below listings for some ideas.



Tokyo's first public cemetery, opened in 1872, is 64 acres in size. There are grave sites of several famous writers and politicians and a section for foreigners. Follow Aoyama-dori further North off the map then take a right.


This museum of pre-modern Japanese and East Asian art includes the private collection of Nezu Kaichiro, also has a gallery, a cafe, a museum shop and a nice Japanese garden. The buildings's architect was Kengo Kuma.


This is the top shopping street with all big brand names. Omotesando Hills is a multi-storied shopping mall offering a feast of upscale shopping and boutiques. A great place to have a walk through if in the area.

Further North, there is more shopping and, after Gaien-Mae station, the beginning of the Meiji Park area, with Rugby Grounds, the Tokyo Yakult Baseball stadium, and other sport venues.

On most weekends there is a farmer's market before the United Nations University building, from about 10am to 4pm. Located one further block South towards Shibuya on Aoyama-dori Avenue on the right side.
