Marunouchi is an upscale shopping district just a step away from both Tokyo Station and Ginza with fashion boutiques and shopping plazas in abundance. The area is best known for its shopping, but there are an assortment of other things to do in the nearby vicinity.
A ten minute walk brings one to Imperial Palace grounds, where the Japanese Imperial Family lives. The inner grounds are closed to the public, but it's possible to walk along the moat and up to the front of the main entry gate.

The design of the original station dates to 1920, but it has seen many additions and improvements. There are now top hotels, shopping plazas, and numerous restaurants all around and inside the station.

This super modern looking masterpiece of architecture holds regular exhibitions and events - even if not seeing a show, it's worth a walk through.

Hibiya Park isn't so big, but it can be a nice place to walk through or enjoy a rest on a bench. There are often events here during the summer, and concerts are sometimes held in its open ampitheater.

Ginza is less than a 15 minute walk from Tokyo Station, so the two areas can easily be combined. Ginza is Tokyo's more luxurious shopping area. Chuo-dori Avenue is the main shopping street.

Let's face it - you're in Marunouchi to go shopping. Shin-Marunouchi Building, Marunouchi Bldg, and the Marunouchi Park Square Building - each have offer an array of shops, boutiques and eateries.
