Meguro is a nice area only two stops from Shibuya, but much more a residential neighborhood. Around the station, and going west along Meguro-dori avenue there are many restaurants and pubs. Meguro generally is residential, but there are some interesting things to check out if in the area.
A ten minute West walk down Meguro-dori will take one to the canal-style Meguro river. There is a pleasant walking path on both sides with benches and bridges, and one can make it to Nakameguro station in about 15 minutes.
