SHIBUYA TOURIST SPOTS and ATTRACTIONS MAP in ENGLISH

Whether for shopping, dining or tourist attractions, Shibuya is one of Tokyo's top districts and a major tourist area. The iconic 'Shibuya Crossing' is directly outside Shibuya station, and the whole area has a fun vibe, with lots of different side streets and places to check out. SHIBUYA CROSSINGSHIBUYA Map E-6

Shibuya crossing where every two minutes pedestrians cross from all directions. Grab a photo from above in the promenade between Shibuya station and Mark City.

CENTER GAI STREETSHIBUYA Map D-5

There are lots of Pedestrian only shopping streets in Shibuya, but this is the most famous and the most lively. It's not really so long, but it is usually crowded and a great place to get a location shot.

HACHIKO DOG STATUESHIBUYA Map F-6

In the 1920's Hachi would meet his master returning from work. The owner died one day while at work, but Hachi came back for nine years. The statue is dedicated to the loyal dog.

SHIBUYA SKYSHIBUYA Map F-7

360º open air observatory on the top of Shibuya Scramble Square building offers great views of the city and Shibuya below. Best to buy tickets in advance. Open 10am to 10:30pm.

   

FASHION SHOPPING

Shibuya shopping tends toward younger styles - but almost all the big fashion names can be found either as independent shops, or inside the many department stores.

This Shibuya icon holds floor after floor of small boutiques and fashion shops, mostly targeting young women. No photos inside are allowed!

WANDER AROUND AND TAKE IN THE SCENE

Shibuya is a great place just to wander about and check out shops and stuff and go up any street and see where it goes. Yoyogi park and Harajuku are both only a 30 minute walk northward.

DAIKANYAMASHIBUYA Map B-7

One stop on the Toyoko Line or a 15 minute walk South-west, Daikanyama is tidy posh neighborhood, with shop lined back streets and many cafes.

PURIKURA PHOTOSSHIBUYA Map G-6

EST Sega has many purikura machines on its first floor. Purikura machines allow one to take photos together and are a great way to memorialize your trip! It's possible to add words too!

YOYOGI PARKSHIBUYA Map D-1

Walking northward brings one eventually to Yoyogi park - Tokyo's largest public park. It's a nice area, with a lot of open green space and a few picnic tables.

CAT STREETSHIBUYA Map G-2

'Cat Street' is a back street between Shibuya and Harajuku. There are loads of small shops, but the area has a quaint feel with many narrow side lanes, and no cars along most of the street.

HARAJUKUSHIBUYA Map G-1

Only a 30 minute walk or so, just follow Meiji-dori ave or Cat street northward. Going directly north brings one to Yoyogi park. Follow the Yamanote line if going direct to Harajuku station.

Love hotels exist all over Japan, and most large stations will have a few, but here they are all jumbled together in one area. Don't enter unless you are actually thinking to get a room!

SPAINZAKASHIBUYA Map D-3

Spainzaka is a curving bricklayed climb through a variety of outlets and shops. It's not so long, but it is a neat street to take when walking about.

NOMBEI ALLEY - Drunk AlleySHIBUYA Map F-6

This small area has several rows of tiny bars that only sit a few customers at a time. Some places are members only. Prices aren't usually on display so check.
