Shinjuku is one of the hubs of Tokyo, and Shinjuku Station is the city's busiest with over three million people passing thru everyday. City government offices and high skyscrapers are on the West side of Shinjuku Station, along with major hotels. The east side of Shinjuku has the main shopping district, offering a mix of large department stores, fashion plazas, electric outlets and many restaurants and bars. To the North-East is Kabukicho - Tokyo's former red-light area.
