TOKYO GOVERNMENT BUILDING

A 10 minute walk west from JR Shinjuku station, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building has 360 degree observatories at the top of both towers. The elevator ride to the top is free.

Shinjuku Gyoen is a 100 acre park with small lakes, flower gardens and sculptured vistas. There is also a tea house, a kiosk and a cafeteria. Games/balls are not allowed. Entry 500 adults.

Kabukicho was once the seedy red light district of Tokyo, but has cleaned up considerably over the past decade. Besides the many show clubs, one can also find a fair amount of shops and restaurants.
