Akasaka is major business and office center with some of the priciest real-estate in Tokyo. It's not really a shopping district, but there are a few places to buy stuff.

This tranquil shrine is just a few minute walk from Sanno-Tamieke station. A long line of red Torii gates leads one up the hill to the main area. Maybe not the most spectacular shrine experience, but worth a look if in the area.
